The Career and Technology Studies (CTS) program helps students develop their skills so that they can prepare for the workplace or other post-secondary learning opportunities. The CTS program at St. Mary's is a dynamic one. Not only is the curriculum mandated by Alberta Education but our programs have experienced teachers that will help students explore and expand their learning in preparation for workplace.
Our CTS program is divided into four strands: Communication Technology, Cosmetology, Trades/Manufacturing/Transportation (TMT) and Foods and Fashion. Within each strand, we offer a variety of 3 and/or 5 credit courses. To obtain full credits in a course, a student must successfully complete and pass each and every one of the required modules or coursework. For example, a student may get a full 3 credits in Communication Technology 10/20/30 by completing and passing a course in Visual Composition, Graphic Design and Animation.
