Choral Music 10
This program focuses on the development of music reading skills and vocal techniques which are essential to the performance of quality choral literature. Music theory, analysis, research and composition are also components of this course.
Choral Music 15
Participants in this program are selected from interested and capable auditioned candidates already enrolled in Choral Music 10. This program focuses on the performance of high caliber choral literature which requires multiple part singing. Prior musical training is an essential prerequisite for Choral Music 15.
Music 15 H
Participants in this program are enrolled in Choral and/or Instrumental Music 10 and 15. International Baccalaureate candidates also attend one evening lecture per week in addition to their weekly rehearsals. This program culminates in Grade 12 with the writing of the International Baccalaureate Music SL examination. Prior musical training is an essential prerequisite for Music 15 H.
The Musical Theatre program aims to provide integrated study in dance, drama and vocal music for students who exhibit special skills in these areas and who seek the challenge of making a serious commitment to performance. It is expected that competencies in all of the above disciplines will become developed through project work and/or performance. This team-taught program will foster an appreciation for the form and a professional attitude towards performance, preparing students for postsecondary and life-long theatre/community experiences.
