High School Registration!

During the months of January and February, we will be starting the High School Registration process. Students will be provided with information and guidance during their Health or Religion classes. Additionally, the Calgary Catholic School District issues each Grade 9 student a copy of FOOTPRINTS TO YOUR FUTURE – A Grade 9 Guide to High School. Students will be working through this resource starting in January.

Please note that Calgary Catholic School District has designated boundaries for all high schools. It is the expectation that students will attend their designated high school (refer to Footprints to Your Future for specific boundary information). Students choosing to register in a high school outside of our jurisdiction, i.e. moving out of Calgary, or attending a Calgary Public or Private School, must register themselves as I am only able to register students attending a Calgary Catholic High School. Please inform the school as soon as possible if you know that your child will not be attending a Calgary Catholic High School.

Most high schools host Open Houses and Information Evenings to assist you in your decision-making process. These dates are attached and are on the school website.

Although there is a lot of detail and paperwork that goes into the process of high school registration, it can be a very exciting time for families to work with their children in the development of goals and plans. I look forward to supporting you and the students on this exciting journey!

Kind regards, Karleen VanDyk- Guidance Counsellor
