St. Timothy School currently offers the Hockey Canada Skills
Academy at the Junior High Level. As a sanctioned program through Hockey
Canada, students are on the ice 2 days per week at the Spray Lakes Arena
throughout the school year working on various skills such as skating, puck
handling, shooting, 1v1 tactics, small area tactics, body contact, etc. Also,
through the Sports Performance option at the school, these students are offered
classroom and weight room time dealing with strength and conditioning, the
mental aspect of the game, nutrition, etc. Players, both male and female of all
levels are encouraged to inquire and register. Highlight of the year is the
Staff vs. Student Hockey game which includes former NHL players, Team Canada
Women Hockey players, and others. Graduates of the program have gone on
to play Bantam AA/AAA, Midget AAA, US Jr. A, Alberta Jr. A, Alberta Jr. B and
some are exploring NCAA opportunities. To inquire about the program, please
contact the school.

These programs are run by certified teachers with extensive hockey backgrounds. Hockey Canada supplies resources and training to our teachers which gives students an advantage as they develop their hockey skills. Students have on-ice training up to twice a week with one off-ice training session as well. This program of choice is funded entirely by parents.
