St. William School is pleased to have a working Commons. The Learning Commons is compared to the metaphor of a kitchen: the heart of your house where you create a variety of foods! A library is compared to a supermarket where you go to purchase. The St. William School Council has been very supportive of fundraising to support this transition.
Our school has worked with District Personnel to create a vision and an ongoing implementation plan for a remarkable, fun-filled Learning Commons. We feature a green screen, flexible tables and seating, as well as a number of Chromebooks in our 100% wireless room. We take part in many "Maker Space" projects, Lego Box activities, rich reading resources and books, as well as digital access to literacy and research. The Learning Commons is a flexible space for entire classes to access and spend time, as well as to provide individual students a comfy space to "curl up and read"!
We are very grateful to all our parents who have supported the fundraising initiatives to enhance our Learning Commons! We all love to explore, dream and create here!
