Shannon Cook

I believe that Catholic education strengthens the future by creating active and caring members of the community. I served as a board member of the Calgary Catholic Education Foundation (CCEF) for over eight years, starting as treasurer. I was chair of the CCEF board during my last five years of service, which ended in 2021, upon accepting my new role as Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) trustee. I also served as the finance chair on the Kara Community Advisory Association for eleven years ending in 2020. The Kara Community Advisory Association supports the Kara Program, a program offered by the CCSD, which supports pregnant and parenting teens attending Calgary Catholic schools. I currently sit on the finance and risk management committee for Silvera, a trusted leader in providing a diverse selection of safe, affordable housing and services to independent older adults in Calgary. I hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, as well as an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. My most recent work experience was as the acting CFO for a publicly traded land development company. I am married to Todd and we have two adult children who attended Calgary Catholic schools. My core values are family and service to others.
