Students improve their ability to read, write, listen, speak and think critically in Spanish and compare their experiences with other cultures. Students receive the Government of Spain's recognition in grades 6, 9 and 12 and have opportunities to take international exams to enter post-secondary.
Students can enter the program in kindergarten or Grade 1 or after they complete an assessment at the school in their attendance area.
Learning in Spanish
Students learn 50 per cent in Spanish, including Spanish Language Arts, Math, Physical Education, Music and Art.
Students learn 35 per cent in Spanish, including Spanish Language Arts, Math and additional subjects determined by each school.
Students earn a total of 25 credits in Spanish in the subjects Spanish Language Arts 10, 20 and 30 and Film and Media Arts 15 and 25.
